How can a gallery be a gallery without art? Le Vernissage invites you to explore art in a new context! To discover art outside cultural spaces such as museums or galleries, especially when one is exploring art in an unlikely place during an overnight stay at a medium-sized hotel, defies artisitic conventions and challenges tourists – Thai and foreigners alike – to step out of their comfort zone and step into a new art space so as to try this experiment for themselves and explore their own response and reaction when finding themselves in unusual circumstances. Guests get to encounter the works of art through an international medium that reflects beauty, way of life, a train of thoughts and the artists’ emotions through unpredictable presentation and art installations. This concept aims to lessen the gap between the artwork and the audience and invite guests to explore the hotel’s space through art that has been produced for the sake of ‘art for art’ and not merely for decorative purposes.

Art for Art defines the work of an artist whose artistic creation represents his/her ideas and feelings based on imagination with the absence of any influences from a funder. Therefore, the artwork displayed at Le Vernissage comes in all sizes and is diverse in technique; some are oil paintings, some acrylic paintings, some sculptures or mixed media and if one looks carefully, one can distinguish between decor items and the work of art that are juxtaposed side by side. This element of surprise and intrigue truly provides a new experience for our guests.

Each art piece at Le Vernissage is the creation of contemporary artists who reside in Thailand. Some pieces were once displayed in the many famous galleries of Bangkok so each work has been carefully selected, critically acclaimed and is guaranteed to be of quality. The works are displayed both inside and outside throughout the hotel and along the hallways to the guest rooms on each floor.
